Internal Audit of SUFAL Project implemented by Bangladesh Forest Department for the financial year from 2018-2019 to 2022-2023



Bangladesh Forest Department (BFD) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has received IDA loan of US$ 175.00 million and GoB contribution of S$ 3.90 million for a period of 5 years (01 July 2018 to 30 June 2023) to implement Sustainable Forests Livelihoods (SUFAL) Project. The overall objective of the project is to improve collaborative forest management and increase access to alternative income generation activities for forest-dependent communities in targeted sites.


The major role of Internal Audit is to provide independent assurance that systems operated by the Authority are effective and that the control environment is adequate. Internal auditors are to provide independent assurance that risks are mitigated, and that the organization’s governance is strong and effective.
